Gil I thought the exact same thing when I saw the DVD. Baker looking healthier than 35 years ago! I'll add a few favorites of 2005 I don't think I've seen mentioned yet: Steve Wynn and the Miracle 3 - TICK TICK TICK... This is the best band Steve has ever had and his songwriting is at a peak these past few years. My vote for best band in the US. The Soundtrack of Our Lives - ORIGINS I. I though it'd be hard to follow up the amazing BEHIND THE MUSIC, but this one is every bit as good. I'll give them the nod as best band outside the US. Garbage - BLEED LIKE ME I had all but written this band off after their pop and hip-hop dabblings, but this return to the form of their earlier rock sound restored my faith. Now just keep 'em coming like this. Terry Anderson and the Olympic Ass-Kickin Team - S/T My friend Terry has created a career best I think. Yeah it may be a little redneck and southern rock like the Georgia Satellites, but nobody does this stuff better. Some of the NRBQ guys lend a hand as well. About a month ago I saw them run through a 20 song set with hardly a moment to catch your breath between songs. Like a jacked up 70's GTO on nitro! Jeffery Dean Foster - MILLION STAR HOTEL Another NC musician who's been around since the 80's, origionally in the Right Profile, a portender (is that a word?) of the NC twang pop sound that's been best known from Ryan Adams. This album is a real beauty with the help of his long time friend Lynn Blakey on vocals and recorded with Mitch Easter. You'll probably only find this album on Jeff's website, but it's well worth the effort to check it out.
