And some of the most fun defiance comes from running a Linux OS, because it just plain ignores that copy-protection jazz and lets me listen, rip, burn, make MP3's for my iPod, make "clean" copies for my friends, etc. Still, I generally avoid buying copy-protected CD's because I don't want to support that, but sometimes you just don't know what you're getting, which is why I think there really should be a truth in labeling law in regards to them that makes it utterly clear ON THE OUTSIDE PACKAGING what you're getting, and that major online sellers should be required to disclose copy protection in the item description.
