I've yet to notice it on any year-end lists (here or otherwise), and it strikes me as fairly thislisty- kind of a Plimsouls meets The Clean sound, with hints of some Spoon production touches (which I may be inferring because the frontman did some time in Britt Daniel's outfit). The disc was released about the time the poop hit the fan with Lookout Records, so I'm wondering if it was hindered by distribution issues. Were any comments posted on this during my fall dormancy? ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 2 Jan 2006 12:36:18 -0600 From: 2fs Subject: Re: [loud-fans] Oranges Band On 1/2/06, GlenSarvad@aol.com wrote: > Am I the only one who found the Oranges Band's "The World and Everything In > It" to be one of 2005's highlights? But I'm disappointed so far: it seems kind of bland and edgeless in comparison with their other stuff. I'm highlighting 4, and honoring another 16, and there are still a lot of other records I enjoyed that aren't on these lists. Given more time, I could probably refine this to a proper ordering, but not tonight, I fear. I know this list looks a bit cluttered with all the weblinks, but I am trying to make it easy for folks to learn about artists they don't know about.
