Why? Just because there's finally going to be a new, actual LOUD FAMILY ALBUM after all these years? I'd rather discuss my feelings and how my new neighbors blast George Thorogood music from their garage. But okay... here we go anyway. I think it's really cool that Scott is apparently billing the collaboration with Anton as a new Loud Family album (at least partially). Don't know if it will generate more sales, but I think it will definitely help to avoid some confusion in the marketplace. There's already enough Scott Millers out there. And I just think it's really cool that the name we all thought dead lives on. Though maybe I would've preferred it be billed as a Game Theory album (which I doubt is even possible)... I don't know that I would read anything into Anton referring to the "Loud Family/Anton" album. I typically find that Anton plays fast and loose with words' denotations. I often have no idea what he means when he writes--I swear if you diagrammed one of his sentences you'd somehow end up with recursive loops. But curiously, it all makes sense when you hear him say it. At least if you've had a few beers. Yet isn't this his charm? ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 16 Aug 2005 12:30:03 EDT From: LeftyZ@aol.com Subject: Re: [loud-fans] hmmmmmm In a message dated 8/16/2005 9:15:13 AM Pacific Standard Time, rwinston@tde.com writes: Though maybe I would've preferred it be billed as a Game Theory album (which I doubt is even possible)... why? ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 16 Aug 2005 10:50:20 -0600 From: "Roger Winston" Subject: Re: [loud-fans] hmmmmmm LeftyZ@aol.com on 8/16/2005 10:30:03 AM wrote: > In a message dated 8/16/2005 9:15:13 AM Pacific Standard Time, > rwinston@tde.com writes: > > >> Though maybe I would've preferred it be billed as a Game Theory album (which >> I doubt is even possible)... > > > why? Just because I think the GT name still has more cachet and is more recognizable then the LF name. Don't know if that would really translate into additional sales though. And, frankly, I've just always liked the name better. Michael Mitton on 8/16/2005 10:29:20 AM wrote: > I don't know that I would read anything into Anton referring to the > "Loud Family/Anton" album. Also, since Joe Becker and Kenny Kessel are playing on the album, it's at least as much a LF album as INTERBABE CONCERN is. When this lineup played a few shows this time last year, I thought it would make a lot more sense to have them billed as the Loud Family than as Scott Miller. > Though maybe I would've preferred it be billed as a Game Theory album (which I doubt is even possible)... Could get confused with Tsar, though. Who? (consults AMG.) Oh. That's pretty funny. I dunno...I think by this point each is so far into cult-act-dom that they could call themselves The Amazing Twinkie & His Self-Starting Mechanical Mule and sell exactly the same number of CDs.* Maybe a few more, just by attracting odd people who buy records solely because of weird band names. Either that, or they should call themselves "Co1dp1ay" and sell lots of copies by sheer mistake. - -- ...Jeff The Architectural Dance Society http://spanghew.blogspot.com * please note this has nothing to do with the quality of the record. I'm just very pessimistic about the Q rating of either of 'em these days... ------------------------------ End of loud-fans-digest V5 #198 *******************************
