Found a new copy of Tommy Keene's "Based On Happy Times" for $8. Since I'd only ever seen it on eBay (used) for $30-$40 I was skeptical, but for $8 I thought 'what the hell'. It arrived in about 3 days, as advertised. - - ====== "I'm a white male aged 18 to 49, everyone listens to me, no matter how dumb my suggestions are." Happy Birthday to two of my favorite people. And hopefully it isn't raining where either of you is at, Andy My dear Long: It seems incredible that I have had your last letter on my desk for over a month without answering it. I have been busy, for one thing...not, however, at poetry-writingonly at what the 100 per cent American would call "useful labour." Personally, I agree with De Gourmont that work is only a "sad necessity" at best. I can't understand the popular tendency to exalt and deify something that is usually disagreeableor worse. I suppose you are right about the northern peoples and their distrust of colour. Why don't you work out the theory in an essay? You could prove that poetrylike moralityis largely a matter of latitude... I just wish I trusted putting my debit card number on the web. I just spent like, 7 or 8 dollars extra on international money orders to Canada today at the post office. I wonder if it is a predominantly Canadian bunch, or did I just happen to get two Canadians by sheer chance? You did get a deal on that CD. - --Mark, off to Tennessee in th' mornin' for my auntie Mae's funeral...yay fun "...the past never dies. Not really."
