For some reason it decided that 4 albums that I'd ripped and tagged myself, as the normal look-up had timed out, were all copies of the Grays Ro Sham Bo. In fact there were some Jason Falkner and Gigolo Aunts in there too. This is the second time that this weirdness has befallen me. My last major rip without the benefits of the online look-up beforehand resulted in 4 Beatles albums all being tagged as A Hard Day's Night. Has anyone else had similar problems, or doesn't it come to light in the era of i-Tunes and the land of decent net connections - my Ukrainian ISP currnetly has me connected at 26.4Kbps, which isn't as slow as I have had here! They have so many excellent bands playing, you'd be a sunburned achy lump with ringing ears by the time it's all over, but it'd be worth it. A bit of a problem to get there if you live on the other side of the continent and not rolling in the dough, but if you can swing it.... Excited today because I'm getting the Morrissey live DVD (I pay the manager at Earshot Records cash and he rings it up tomorrow). (booking Bauhaus isn't quite the same feat, as they'd already brought themselves out of retirement for a tour five or six years ago.) how long has this fest been going on? the organizers seem to be riding a definite "mid-80s college radio" vibe. > with ringing ears by the time it's all over i think most of us in the upper reaches of the target age demographic probably went to earplugs a while ago. that said, you've got to love any festival that provides flushable toilets and forbids "chain wallets." dc ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 7 Mar 2005 17:45:09 -0600 From: "jer fairall" Subject: [loud-fans] test (ignore, delete) can you hear this? http://www.Care2.com Free e-mail. 100MB storage. Ah! My fave Cocteau Twins story! Way back in about 1990 or '91, Stacey and I went to see them at UC Berkeley. Game Theory had been gone for about a year or so. Stacey and I were still "just dating". We were walking out of the show and this guy walks up to me and says: "Game Theory SUCKS!". We laughed and walked away. I was actually thrilled that someone knew enough about the band to have recognized me! Gil I thought the Cocteau Twins were awesome, by the way. __________________________________ Celebrate Yahoo!'s 10th Birthday! Yahoo! Maybe he meant it in a good way, like when people used to say "Primus SUCKS!" I have a Cocteau Twins story, and it involves a recreational drug, a flashlight, a darkened living room, two friends also on the same drug, and a dual tape deck blaring BLUE BELL KNOLL in both decks about two seconds apart. There was also a similar scenario with a friend's Psychic TV album around the same time, (sans flashlight and tape delay) but they really creeped me out. Is it because I was 23 not 24?
