Help, maybe someone else remembers these shows. I don't know their names. The first was set in a future world - a group of environmentalists traveling around in the "ARC 2", a weird bus like vehicle. The other one was a sci fi show with kids - maybe they were gods or something - I think one was named Loki and he used "camelopardalis" as an exclamation. Feel free to chip in with other obscure geeky tv shows from the '70s. Any LF comp that didn't include "Marcia and Estrusca" (or "Marcid" as Amazon.com would have you believe), "Sister Sleep", and "Give in World" would have significant holes in it. Of course, we could go on and on... Doug S. - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Tue, 4 Jan 2005 17:32:54 -0800 From: "Michael W. Zwirn" Subject: [loud-fans] Single disc LF compilation It seemed a pity that there was no good single-disc compilation of the Loud Family, including some live material, demos, and covers in addition to the proper album material. So I made one and posted to Art of the Mix. Many thanks to Sue Trowbridge and http://loudfamily.com for the MP3 links, which is a nifty new feature that AOTM offers. http://www.artofthemix.org/findamix/GetContents.asp?strMixid=85635 - - --------------------- Michael W. I found a copy for $29.99 at a collector shop, which is fairly reasonable relative to ebay prices. If anybody wants me to head back and buy it for them, send me an email off list. Very nearly on the money, except it was called "ARK 2," as in, Noah's ark, out to save the world. "Pollution and waste began to take their toll...civilization fell into ruins." The chimpanzee(?)'s name was Adam. http://imdb.com/title/tt0127989/?fr=c2l0ZT1kZnxzZz0xfHR0PW9ufHBuPTB8cT1BcmsgSUl8bXg9MjB8bG09MjAwfGh0bWw9MQ__;fc=2;ft=20;fm=1 > The other one was a sci fi show with kids - maybe they were gods or > something - I think one was named Loki and he used "camelopardalis" as > an exclamation. "Space Academy" I dug Jonathan Harris as the arch, grumpy commander, although no, I didn't remember his name. http://imdb.com/title/tt0075585/?fr=c2l0ZT1kZnxteD0yMHxzZz0xfGxtPTIwMHx0dD1vbnxwbj0wfHE9U3BhY2UgQWNhZGVteXxodG1sPTF8bm09b24_;fc=1;ft=1 > Feel free to chip in with other obscure geeky tv shows from the '70s. Anybody remember "Pink Baloney"? 'Cause I sure don't. And we never talk about "Land of the Lost"? Andy "Wow. Amazing that Morrison produced the music he did with the Doors considering how drunk he often was. Also, the author seemed to really dig Jim's girlfriend. She wasn't *that* good looking. I guess Morrison didn't suffer hangovers the way most people do." - --written in pencil on the last page, before the Author's Notes, of a library copy of Stephen Davis' JIM MORRISON: LIFE, DEATH, LEGEND ------------------------------ End of loud-fans-digest V5 #5 *****************************
