Any information on this band I would very much appreciate. I heard a song of theirs at the station this morning and I thought it was great. Their self-titled album is about the golden age of mankind when people lived in idyllic bliss, in harmony with nature. Acoustic guitars, drum machines, vocal harmonies, and timeless songwriting in the vein of Rocketship, The Vaselines, and The Pastels. Indiepop, new wave, and shoegazer rolled into one band. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 26 Nov 2004 15:50:25 EST From: AWeiss4338@aol.com Subject: Re: [loud-fans] Teagan and Sarah Tegan & Sarah Qinn are from Canada. They are sisters, identical twins, and both are gay. Thiir in there 20's, their first album was released when they were teens. I don't recomend their first, a bad Ani impersonation. They've gotten better since then. If the song you heard was Your Ghost, I agree, it's great. That's the one. I had put World Cafe on at 5 am at the end of my shift, and it was one of the first songs David Dye played. I'm going to see what they have at the record store by them on the way to work later. Good to see a post from you. If you can't find their new one, which I'm not sure is out yet, try If It Was You, their last album. There isn't a song as good as Your Ghost on it, but there are fine songs nevertheless, like Monday, Monday, Monday. It will give you a good idea of what they sound like. Vapor/Sanctuary is the label. Thanks. One loudfan-friendly piece of info about them: this album and their last one were both produced by John Collins (the New Pornographers' bassist) and Dave Carswell (the NP's producer, at least for their first album). And they run JC/DC Studios, where Destroyer has recorded. This didn't make me like them more, but it did make me give them another try. a ------------------------------ End of loud-fans-digest V4 #319 *******************************
