Subject: [loud-fans] Lolita Nation: remastered by a gerbil on an exercise wheel

I am, by no means, in any way, shape or form (I know, shocker shocker) in the 
know regarding computers, but I just burned LOLITA NATION on a CD-RW at 4x 
and it sounds BETTER than the original Enigma CD.  It sounds cleaner and richer. 
 I'm at a loss as to understand why.  I erased the Auer/Stringfellow album 
PRIVATE SIDES that was originally on it, and put this one on in its place, so it 
wasn't a virgin disc.  I set the Nero software to make an exact copy.  

Why is this?  I know it's not in my head.  I've heard this album so many 
times, I know it when I hear a difference.

There's a pea underneath my mattress (and get rid of the brown m&ms in the 
dressing room candy dish),

Doesn't Nero normalize by default? Maybe it's just louder and normally
louder = better when the ears are involved. Or at least there's a common
perception that louder = better.
