I cannot help but think that Kerry chose Edwards because >he's photogenic, and Kerry, well, isn't. It seems more likely to me that Kerry wants the Southern Democrat vote and Edwards is an outreach to those voters. For the living know that they shall die : but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. If it's the latter you may be misunderstanding the derivation of the name. The Leslie Spit is a place in the Toronto region where spit has the "narrow piece of land jutting into water" meaning. Apparently they used to busk or hang out there. So the name actually has more in common with The E Street Band or some other geographically named assemblage. Although I also think they like the dual nature of it, too. Date: Fri, 30 Jul 2004 17:19:40 -0400 (EDT) From: Sue Trowbridge To: loud-news@smoe.org We told you a few weeks ago that Scott Miller & Kenny Kessel were going to be reuniting for a couple of shows in August -- one in Sacramento and one in San Francisco. (Scott will also be doing a solo show in Berkeley.) Well, former Loud Family/Game Theory/Thin White Rope drummer Joe Becker has also signed on, and he will be behind the kit for both of these gigs! Bradley Skaught of Belle Da Gama will be adding a 2nd guitar to the mix. It will be amazing to see Scott fronting a real rock-and-roll band again! Dates & info at http://www.loudfamily.com/news.html They will be performing with Statuesque at all of these shows. Statuesque is coming all the way from London to play in Northern California in order to promote their brand-new CD, CHOIR ABOVE FIRE BELOW. Statuesque plays the kind of brainy, melodic pop music that appeals to a lot of Loud fans. If you'd like a preview, there are MP3s available for download at http://www.125records.com/shop.html Because Scott is rehearsing and working on new material (!), he's put Ask Scott on hiatus for a little while. We will send you a notification once it returns. http://www.loudfamily.com/ ------------------------------ End of loud-fans-digest V4 #208 *******************************
