Last time I checked, it wasn't playing here, but it shouldn't take too long for it to get to video. Does it work, or do you think Linklater should have avoided a sequel? I'm afraid it'll be like REALITY BITES 2: THE BITTER MINIVAN YEARS, or something. Still, I've enjoyed all of his other films that I've seen, except for DAZED AND CONFUSED. WAKING LIFE was masterful. I enjoyed SAME TIME NEXT YEAR as a kid, though admittedly I was a little too young to fully appreciate it. Is it on that level of quality? (assuming the consensus STNY is a good film). - --Mark S. np The Hollies EPIC ANTHOLOGY (why the hell is "Bus Stop" not on this??) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 19 Jul 2004 13:48:06 -0400 From: Stewart Mason Subject: Re: [loud-fans] movie question At 01:09 PM 7/19/2004 EDT, LkDylaninthmvies@aol.com wrote: >np The Hollies EPIC ANTHOLOGY (why the hell is "Bus Stop" not on this??) True, but a lot of rabid Hollies fans consider the Epic period to be the group's artistic pinnacle, so it makes sense that there would be an anthology devoted just to their Epic work. Personally, I prefer the beat-group stuff they did at Imperial, which is probably why I'm not a rabid Hollies fan. To Epic's credit, the sound quality is quite good. I got it from the BMG record club, and a complete track listing was not given in their catalog. I have a vinyl copy of the Epic '73 greatest hits collection, and "Bus Stop" is the opening track, so I just assumed it would be there. I think of it as their signature song. I especially like how the drums sound in that one. I like the Hollies, but not enough to go deep into their catalog. Is there another Hollies collection where "Bus Stop" is included? - --Mark S. np: Glenn Tilbrook TRANSATLANTIC PING PONG ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 19 Jul 2004 21:24:55 EDT From: LkDylaninthmvies@aol.com Subject: [loud-fans] Re: Hollies In a message dated 7/19/2004 9:15:59 PM Eastern Daylight Time, LkDylaninthmvies writes: > Is there another Hollies collection where "Bus Stop" is included? > More specifically, another besides the '73 collection I mentioned? I got on to go to bmgmusic.com, and to write that Rosebuds live review for you. I want the Badfinger greatest hits remaster, and the Ramones' END OF THE CENTURY, if its still available. I doubt this old Compaq I got (remember that severe thunderstorm last month while I was at the Aimee show in Asheville fried my computer's motherboard) has enough oomph to take advantage of all the site's offerings. Alas, me mum took pity and bought it for me used, so I accept it gratefully. I thought surge protectors were supposed to uh, protect your computer from surges? Did I tell you I'm running AOL version 6 because the old girl can't handle any higher without locking up every two minutes? Fortunately I saved all the old CD ROMs. I did find a site that offers memory upgrades for Presarios (a model 5441 w/the burner from the nuked machine) for a reasonable price, so I'm going to plunk down the 50 bucks and get another 128 megs of RAM to hold me 'til I can afford a new machine when I begin teaching. Windows Me leaves something to be desired, though. It was "upgraded" from Windows 98, but I can't go back, because the machine was wiped with it added. I'd much rather have Windows 98 Second Edition. It worked very well, and was very stable. I don't mind feeding the hamster on the exercise wheel in the back of the machine that powers it, though. He's cute. - --Mark S. np: Sniff 'n' the Tears FICKLE HEART ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 19 Jul 2004 23:51:30 -0700 From: "me" Subject: Re: [loud-fans] Re: Hollies aren't you supposed to be doing wedding things? like confirming florists or getting cold feet or something? oh, and congratulations! brianna - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Michael Zwirn" To: Cc: ; Sent: Monday, July 19, 2004 7:42 PM Subject: Re: [loud-fans] Re: Hollies > > What Stewart says is understandable, though I wished I'd known the > > premise of > > the release/band bio before I bought it, but Stewart thank you for the > > information.
