Dave added a final degree of popcraft (that lots of people miss). Colin and whatever drummer more or less interpreted what Andy did for the demos. That's my non-musician take, anyway. So I wouldn't be a bit surprised if every bit of the Wonderfalls song is Andy. > To which I responded (and am forwarding here): > >> Where "minimal" = "participation of Colin Moulding," I suppose. The posts on Chalkhills have lately been about Jaye's "remarkable chocolate-brown velvet ass pants," but a few months ago one of the Partridge Friends said that there *is* work being done on a new album. But I don't think it's the "we're finishing on X date" kind. Colin's wife has health problems, and I think that may be the main reason he's not that interested in doing XTC (or even Fuzzy Warbles) stuff. I'm pretty sure that all of his songs on Apple Venus/Wasp Star were from the vault. Andy has been tarting-up the FW songs (it's remarkable how much better the old stuff sounds) and he's just released an album with Peter Blegvad. He's also produced an album by The Milk And Honey Band. Plus, Ape has solicited music/art/writing from people for possible release, so Andy's looking at that. I don't know if anything is going on at present, but Andy occasionally writes or co-writes songs for various people. So, Andy's busy busy busy and Colin stays home and does a bit of fishing and looks after his wife. - - Steve __________ I know from first-hand experience that a president acting secretly usually does not have the best interests of Americans in mind. Rather, it is his own personal interests that are at stake. - John Dean, on George W. Bush ------------------------------ End of loud-fans-digest V4 #83 ******************************
