DVD Empire is running a Criterion sale: http://www.dvdempire.com/Content/promos/criterionchristmas.asp?partner_i d=49648684 And Deep Discount DVD (www.deepdiscountdvd.com) has a couple of coupons - - something they *never* do - in effect. Both "usatoday" and "dvdtalk" will get you an extra 20% off until Dec 5. They're one time use (per customer) but it's accepted both for me for separate orders. No preorders. Reports are that they have bumped the prices on a few items, but not many. If you go through http://www.dvdtalk.com/ they'll get they're referral - it's a pretty good site for DVD info. I picked up a bunch of Criterion titles - they drop to $17 and $23 with the discounts - and a bunch of blaxploitation flicks for under $8 for Beth's stocking. Side 1 would certainly be one >of the greatest EP's ever realeased. I have to stand up for "Revelation," the aforementioned "meandering jam." It's certainly not to everyone's taste -- I only came around to it since developing an interest in the vintage free jazz that inspired it -- but as an early example of jazz-rock, it stands up much better than most of what came after. Random piece of Thanksgiving-related information: thermal shock will cause a 15x11 Pyrex heatproof dish to shatter into about 400 tiny, jewel-like pieces all over half of your range while you're deglazing it. Which actually is kinda cool. S NP: THE UA YEARS 1969-1974 -- Amon Duul II ------------------------------ End of loud-fans-digest V3 #346 *******************************
