But shouldn't the heads have been stacked by amount of hair? Of course, if you left Gil's head right at the top, the whole thing would look kinda...uh...you know... Anyway, what I wanna know is this: the site sez, "We'll let you know when it's ready for pre-order." Can't we pre-pre-order? ..Jeff, who saw a building the other day with a sign that said "Pre-Need Center" - you know, like snowshoes in summer? Or "pre-planning" - as opposed to "post-planning" (i.e., excuse-making)? I have the bad habit of switching mail clients a lot and never seem to remember what I have and haven't done. With so many loud-fans and other associated luminaries in Winston this weekend, it would seem remiss not to attempt some sort of gathering. I am thinking of the Fourth St. Filling Station, where drink, food and outside seating can be had, and proximity to the Garage and downtown is good. Michael Slawter said he can probably show up for a while. The time will be around 4:30-5 pm to allow anyone who is playing that night ample time to leave after dinner to get hopped up on meth and ludes before they play. Anyone who wants to attend and meet more loud-fans than have ever assembled in one location (please, leave your weapons at home), mail me off-list and we'll come up with a count and I'll see if I can reserve a couple of big tables stuck together or something. If no one responds, I resign as social director and I'll just see you at the shows. later, dr. murt ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 15 Jul 2003 22:55:21 -0400 From: dana-boy@juno.com Subject: Re: [loud-fans] Actually, we'll just have coffee, now that we think about it Anyway, what I wanna know is this: the site sez, "We'll let you know when it's ready for pre-order." A large chunk of the Charlatans UK's catalog has shown up without appearing in the new section (for the longest time it was just one album). You won't get many cool points for liking the Charlatans, but in my book they've put out a ton of surprisingly solid stuff. If you've somehow managed to never hear "The Only One I Know" then go download it right this minute, as it's a classic that transcends the genre that it helped create. Aside from that, I'm kind of partial to "Up To Our Hips." They also have Goblin. Did someone mention that already? And now that Air Miami are up, can Unrest be far behind? - --dana np: Tony Coulter's show on WFMU, via the archives ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the internet in years - Juno SpeedBand!
