I can hear why some pop fans might like them, since the standard rock still has an emphasis on melody and the occasional ringing guitars. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 24 May 2003 12:35:15 EDT From: LeftyZ@aol.com Subject: Re: [loud-fans] Fiction Plane (ns) In a message dated 5/24/03 5:08:15 AM, JRT456@aol.com writes: << In a message dated 5/23/03 9:49:25 PM, johncooper@pobox.com writes: << Cooper: The AllMusic guide entry makes it sound interesting. Headed there now. I first heard them on KCRW a couple weeks ago, and then a live performance there on Morning Becomes Eclectic this past Tuesday, after which I won tickets (thru a call in) to the June 13 show at HOB Hollywood and an autographed CD (can you tell I'm excited?), which has arrived already. Great guitars, great lyrics, great drums. This is simply a great album. I could be more descriptive, but I'm in a gushing mode. They played a stunner of a set at Movement 2003 (Detroit's annual electronic music festival) and blew everyone away. They were incredibly powerful, percussive, and as tight as ever. Fellow 99 Records alumni ESG played shortly afterwards and were quite good as well. -d.w. ------------------------------ End of loud-fans-digest V3 #149 *******************************
