According to what I've read (never had or heard the CD), the CD's version of "Sample And Hold" is a remix from the vinyl version; the same remix featured on, yes, LUCKY THIRTEEN. So maybe Miles is off to the store! Wondering if I've still got my vinyl of TRANS, actually...Quiex II vinyl, whatever that means... > Miles, as most always, you rock. Okay, you watch THE COMPLEX SESSIONS, I'll watch LIVE IN BERLIN, Andy 5/24 I think about suicide a lot. Mainly when Im driving. What if I just accidentally drive off the road. Maybe lake. They would probably think was so tragic he didnt even graduate from high school. Or maybe right after graduation, its like Im going through the motions. My heart isnt in very much stuff lately. I liked working with my electronics in my room. I liked starting a web page .. Im at peace, thinking of that stuff. I like having projects espeially hard ones the only I can do or its my responsibility. My car broke down 2 days ago right near here. For my job (I need to find a job soon), my lifetime job, I want to have something with a relaxed atmosphere. I think I would be a good consultant. Something with problem solving. Theres a long train holding me up. Oh well Im early for a haircut. One could totally analyze this writing. My dad needs to pay me back before June 3, cause there is a car auction then. I want to go to it. I have to find a job this weekend. Im so emberressed about my car. I feel a dumbness today, its getting less but I still dont feel normal. Well gotta go 6:45 Ive noticed I go off about people in my hed I get pissed and mad for no reason. After school today I pole vaulted (almost 12). Then went over to Jeds and we plus ian worked on his pond. Hey also I got paid today. $40 for stars. This is probably the first day in a while I havent gone over to Kimis. 5/25 Well my mind is shot. I dont know literally whats going on. I have a weed hangover and after drinking last night and not getting enough sleep, Im just dumb founded. All I know is Im going to school at 1:45. This is awesome only one period today. I wonder if I could carry on a normal conversation. Oh yeah, last night Katie and Kevin were holding hands right in front of me. It would have sucked if I wasnt messed up. Just not a good situation. Well Im going to school. Im going to get a tattoo at Hilltop first though. Im going to try to get one everyday till I graduate. Henry is the funniest guy when hes high. That was my first time smoking out with him. - --pencil-written on a folded, softened piece of notebook paper, posted on the Monkey Pub bulletin board as of last Wednesday ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 23 May 2003 12:33:25 -0500 From: Miles Goosens Subject: Re: [loud-fans] Cabs crossing At 10:09 AM 5/23/2003 -0700, G. So maybe Miles is off to the store! Actually, I just Googled around a bit and it seems like the original kick-ass "Sample and Hold" is still a vinyl-only deal. In addition, the TRANS CD also has a different version of "Like an Inca." So I guess I'll be holding onto my vinyl for quite a bit longer. Of course, if I want a CD reissue of TRANS that restores those two vinyl mixes, all I have to do is buy the extant CD and it'll happen! So maybe I am off to the store! :-) later, Miles ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 23 May 2003 10:33:51 -0700 (PDT) From: "Pete O." Has anyone actually seen the movie? I must admit I've seen the movie and have the vinyl of JTTP and neither make any sense whatsoever. First viewing of the movie was as a late show when it came out in the 70's. I saw it again about 10 years ago on tape thinking that maybe now without the accoutrements of 70's late show viewing it might make some sense - it still doesn't. All I can still remember from it are the live footage of CSNY and Buffalo Springfield. I bought the album before the movie and from that wondered what the hell this was all about and viewing the movie (now twice) made things not one bit better. Did like the album for the "Mr. Soul" song you mentioned Steve as well as a haunting, spare version of "Words". Only other images that stick in my head from the film was a scene in an old auto junk yard with a bunch of really cool very old rusted out cars. Guess I'm no help eh Steve? Now I'm really looking foward to the duet album with him and Aimee Mann. And that she seems to have coaxed him out of retirment for good, since he serious about writing more straightfoward songs. One other thing I'm looking foward to is when this album is released, on the strength of Aimee's name, this album will chart on more than one Billboard chart. How werid will that be. And to hear this on AAA radio, where Aimee is a 'core' artist.
