Sorry, but it's not available online. And even more exciting there are substantiated rumors of a dB's reunion show here sometime soon, maybe as early as October itself. The dB's have their own long-awaited website www.thedbsonline.net , a re-release of their first 2 classic albums www.ccmusic.com , a Chris Stamey album early next year on Yep Roc (delayed again), and now this. Definitely a dB's resurgence!! - -Larry ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 30 Sep 2002 13:00:04 -0500 (CDT) From: Jeffrey with 2 Fs Jeffrey Subject: [loud-fans] back to Mixerman... Okay, I'm kind of hooked on this little soap opera, but the latest development ought to be more fodder for those wondering whether it's "true" or not: Lance (the assistant) has found out that Mixerman's keeping a diary - and, with Mixerman having a couple of weeks off, wants to do the diary for that period. Interesting to see if this happens, if "Lance" writes significantly differently than Mixerman...or if it rather obviously is the same guy pretending to write as another person. http://www.prosoundweb.com/recording/mm/week8/day5/mm.php is the latest post. - --Jeff J e f f r e y N o r m a n The Architectural Dance Society www.uwm.edu/~jenor/ADS.html ::part of your circuit of incompetence:: np: Neilson Hubbard _The Slide Project_ ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 30 Sep 2002 14:55:16 -0400 From: Dave Walker Subject: Re: [loud-fans] back to Mixerman... The arrangement only lasted one day. Lance made a single entry, in which he was a little too forthcoming with identifying detail and Mixerman put the kibosh on Lance doing any further updates. Whether this is all real or simply engrossing fiction is, to me, hardly the point as long as it remains as entertaining as it has been. searching for Harmon Neenot, -d.w. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 30 Sep 2002 14:00:19 -0500 (CDT) From: Jeffrey with 2 Fs Jeffrey Subject: Re: [loud-fans] back to Mixerman... I sent the link to the Mixerman series to Mitch Easter for his amusement. He wrote me back saying this was all indicative of the LA mainstream music machine and has been for many years. Mitch's take was recording an album should be fun and done as quickly as possible. It's much more readily slotted in the "power pop" slot, for one. I think it would appeal more to the folks whose main interests lie in that category. I think _Why Men Fail_ is the superior album (although I like SP a lot), because it sketches a much broader and more colorful palette and does so quite well. Wonderful interview, Jen. Gil is a fascinating person and an outstanding drummer. Like someone around here used to say, "Gil is God!" Kudos to The Neighbor as well on her pictures.
