I'm spellbound. I've gotten tired of renting it, so I've ordered my own copy. I've seen this amazing film about 5 times now. My favorite segment is the girl in the subway who doesn't want to be an "ant." (If you haven't seen the film, this probably won't translate well in an e-mail). She vocalized exactly how I feel. I like this movie better than "Slacker" I think, and I"ve seen that one maybe a dozen times. Linklater is a remarkable artist. Ferris Bueller used to be my hero, but no more. If you haven't caught this film yet, you owe it to yourself to see it. - -Mark Staples, who gave his two weeks notice at his Mcjob Friday, because they told me I couldn't turn the florescent lights out in the office (they give me headaches) and use a lamp. It's not what anyone would expect out of Kay Hanley... Ms. "Letters To Cleo", Ms. "Josie" of the "Pussycats".... The disc is pretty introspective in nature. Not a lot of bounce to it. I suppose the Michelle Branch comparison isn't too far off. If you liked Nina Gordon's solo debut, you'll like this one. IMO, the Kay Hanley record is just_OK_...nothing great, nothing too cringe-worthy. The Nina Gordon record, on the other hand, I thought was downright boring, with the exception of 2 out of the 3 'rock' songs and the title track. Maybe her next one will be better. Phil F.
