This was his first appearance on a Bay Area concert stage in over a year, and his first time on any stage since the L.A. Scramarama festival last November. I don't know where Mark got the 8/17 release date from, but I got my copy already directly from CCmusic...... There is nothing better than turning the stereo to 11 and blasting "Her Heads Revolving"..... - ----- Forwarded by Wes Vokes/MKE/eFunds on 07/29/02 12:55 PM ----- dmw To: where punctuation trumps music Sent by: cc: owner-loud-fans@s Subject: Re: [loud-fans] a reissue we all will want moe.org 07/29/02 12:47 PM On Sun, 28 Jul 2002 Boyof100lists@aol.com wrote: > I forgot to mention this earlier. The nays carried the day decisively, allowing the DJ to play his "LP being shattered" sound effect and promise never to air anything by the band again. And, if there are Loud-fans that can endorse the Spice Girl's movie, there's probably some of us that are familiar with PPG as well. While I haven't seen the PPG movie, I have become somewhat enamoured with the music they use on the TV show. Generally, it's been a mix of techno, power-pop, and j-pop. What's really neat-o is that all of the songs are written especially for (and about) the Powerpuffs. There is one song in particular that strikes my fancy. It's called "Girls Against the World" and is credited to a band called The Quick. Is anyone familiar with this song/band? The singer sounds like Natalie Merchant and there's some nifty guitar work that could pass for Robert Buck. Web-searches on the subject have been fruitless. Any information would be appreciated. Located in Columbia County, 120 miles northwest of Philadelphia, Centralia had long been a thriving coal mining community, home to 1,100 people, many of them second and third generation miners. Perhaps that is why a small pile of burning trash didn't attract much attention, even after it ignited a coal seam on the outskirts of town triggering an underground mine fire. Certainly, no one imagined that the conflagration would one day merit international media coverage, or that it would reduce the local population to fewer than 25 residents. In fact, virtually all that remains from 1962 is the fire, which has now been burning uninterrupted for nearly 40 years. - -- "Drag me, drop me, treat me like an object." - -- - ----- Original Message ----- From: "me" To: Sent: Monday, July 29, 2002 2:12 PM Subject: [loud-fans] it's all connecetd somehow > found today while looking for a depth for the deepest coal min in Pennsylvania > (go, trivia!) > > "Pits have dangerous high walls, water hazards, and create 'attractive > nuisances', -and life threatening hazards- for young people." > > -- > "Drag me, drop me, treat me like an object." > -- ------------------------------ End of loud-fans-digest V2 #259 *******************************
