However, I read this as: all other loud-fans have the lowest aggregate travel miles to get to Columbus. Therefore, you all must come visit us. We can picnic in Cornhenge. Or at the "A Sunday On The Island Of La Grande Jatte" Seurat topiary garden. Or the Longaberger building. If you forget to pack a lunch, we can stop at Wendy's or White Castle, which are both headquartered here. http://www.insouciant.com/photo/corn.htm http://www.topiarygarden.org/ http://www.longaberger.com >at the other end of the spectrum, with the highest total number of travel >miles to all other loud fans combined: >Carolyn Dorsey in Rutherford, NJ - 132,896 miles It's certainly not Brianna's fault, but this seems rather unfair given that Carolyn floated the picnic idea that got this all started. >geographic center: >Shibley's Point, Adair County, MO >closest big-enough-to-be-on-a-map town: Kirksville, MO >closest metropolitan area: Des Moines, IA Way-elp, looks like we'll have that picnic in DC after all. That's okay; you far-flung folks can come visit us as well. In fact, we wish you would. (d from L57 to L1) + (d from L57 to L3) + (d from L57 to L4) + ... + (d from L57 to L57) = d57 yes, there were 57 of you. that means (57+56+55+54+53+...+1) 1653 entries! i think... ok, now back to work for me. - -- "Drag me, drop me, treat me like an object." - -- ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 11 Jun 2002 16:48:04 -0400 (EDT) From: Sue Trowbridge Subject: Re: [loud-fans] NS: The Other Scott Miller Tour Dates On Tue, 11 Jun 2002, Miles Goosens wrote: > Our NC, Southwestern, and California contingents are in for a treat: > > Thu. A couple of days ago, I was speculating on "What if Scott ever released a solo album?" It seems like "Scott Miller" has been cruelly snatched away from him by The Other Scott Miller, and he might have to release it under the name Scott W. "Puzzle" is a fine album, and most of the comparisons in AMG seem a little farfetched to me. It's not a *great* album, but there are a few standout tracks (especially the "Mr. Davies" song that comes in for criticism). There's a jazzy side to some of the songs that the reviewer seems to miss entirely. BTW, re: Allmusic reviews that *are* on the money: the best Swans album, long out of print and not all that easy to find even when it was, has been reissued. Anyone who likes the band may want to check out "Feel Good Now," which documents their live show circa "Children of God." It's one of those few live albums that vastly improve on the studio stuff and for what little it's worth, it's one of my favorite albums of all time and space. It's very nice that it's finally more widely available. In view of what happened with the Children of God/World of Skin reissue, it might be wise to purchase sooner rather than later. - --dana ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO!
