I can't stand the sound collages either, but "Music From the Unrealized Film Script 'Dusk at Cubist Castle'" is one of my fav discs of the last couple of years. It has some great pop songs and you can skip over the arty noodling, or whatever the hell it is. _____________________________________________________ Mark D. If I'm reading it right, it's not the nipples that are being censored. It's another body part. You need to think up a different cute little organization name, mr. smarmy pants. Based on a week of owning it, it's very nice. And when i ordered my copy directly from the label (http://www.cloudrecordings.com), for $12 ppd., i also got an attached mix CD, hand-labeled, of an extremely eclectic mix of artists that apparently the guy at the label decided i should hear. A lovely and odd touch. -Brian _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 10 Apr 2002 22:38:09 -0400 From: Stewart Mason Subject: Re: [loud-fans] Olivia Tremor Control / Circulatory System At 11:38 PM 4/10/02 +0000, Brian Block wrote: >If you like the pop side, and only the pop side, of the Olivia Tremor >Control (which is about my opinion too), one of its founders is also the >leader of Circulatory System, whose self-titled 2001 debut is pretty much >exactly what an album of OTC pop songs would be. For that matter, both albums by the Sunshine Fix (who is basically the *other* guy in OTC -- the band no longer exists, though they might work together again eventually) are even poppier than the Circ System record, especially A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE SUNSHINE FIX. The other one, AGE OF THE SUN is terrific for two-thirds of its length and then conveniently puts the one annoying part, a 20-minute loop of a single vocal overdub, at the very end for easy termination.
