BEDAZZLED has been a cult favorite for a long time, and it's a shame that yet again a classic movie has been remade and will be remembered that way. You'd think that if anyone would have gotten it right it would have been the Times, but even they blew it. I would argue that most of his post-"10" movies are unremarkable. I found a BIG PLANS CD when I was in Nashville a few years ago. All those Let's Active cds must be drawn to that city by the same forces that keep Robyn Hitchcock and Richard Thompson away! Speaking of Let's Active, I recently compiled an "Easter" mix CDR with a bunch of songs produced by Mitch Easter over the years (tracklist at http://www.artofthemix.org/FindAMix/GetContents.asp?strMixID=24590), and am looking to give a few more copies away while Easter is still seasonally appropriate. No haikus, no "post-rock" puns, just email me offlist with SIX albums with the word BIG in the title that were released while I was in college (1983-1987) and I'll send you a copy. Also, I just got the Robyn Hitchcock CD, "Robyn Sings", in the mail today. Exactly one week after mailing my check -- neat! I haven't heard it yet, but the second CD (it's a two-disc set) appears to be Robyn's duplication of the second (electric) half of Bob Dylan's "Albert Hall" concert. I had heard that he had done something like that a few years ago; it will be interesting to hear it.
