Tempus fugit and all that... Elizabeth asked a while back: > So speaking of music, has anyone heard any truly great 2002 releases > yet? Not a 2002 release but something I only bought recently is Ken Stringfellow's "touched" which I absolutely love. However a genuine 2002 release that I think is marvellous is Parallax Project's "Oblivious". Happy Easter, Ian Np Fairport Convention - "Meet On the Ledge - the classic years 1967-1975" - picked this up yesterday and it's bringing back all sorts of memories - peerless. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 31 Mar 2002 11:30:44 -0500 From: Michael Bowen Subject: Re: [loud-fans] the proverbial kissing of the guy At 12:29 AM 3/31/2002 -0600, Jeffrey with 2 Fs Jeffrey wrote: >Aside from extremely well-known examples (like the Hendrixian mishearing >alluded to in the subject line...and of course, amongst us, the mangled >Miller of my list name above), what are some of the more interesting >misheard lines you folks think you heard? Roger Winston and his bandmate John Ridges were able to make a CD copy of Vol. 1 (the only Vol. so far), and that's what would be treed. A copy of the original booklet would go with it, I'd presume. I was starting to get curious about that, having gone through some old email recently and come across messages about this project from 1999 (!). Please keep us all updated about the status, doug! I was just listening to The Merrymakers "Saltwater Drinks" from BUBBLEGUN. What I'd always thought to be "Sailing in a boat for two. Cross the seven seas with you. Saltwater drinks are all on me. I believe in you. I believe in you." I just realized it sounds more like: "I believe in you. I'll be leaving you." or possibly even: "I'll be leaving you. I'll be leaving you." Which doesn't really make sense to me, given the rest of the lyrics. Listen to a snippet of it at http://www.the-merrymakers.com/documents/multimedia/saltwater.mp3 and let me know what you think. (Or play it at home, if you have it!) It's really great pop!
