Okay, I figured out he sang (I think) "The sky is blue, my hands are tied"...but I like my version better. Aside from extremely well-known examples (like the Hendrixian mishearing alluded to in the subject line...and of course, amongst us, the mangled Miller of my list name above), what are some of the more interesting misheard lines you folks think you heard? - --Jeffrey with 2 Fs Jeffrey J e f f r e y N o r m a n The Architectural Dance Society www.uwm.edu/~jenor/ADS.html ::American people like their politics like Pez - small, sweet, and ::coming out of a funny plastic head. __Dennis Miller__ ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 30 Mar 2002 22:50:43 -0800 From: Cindy Alvarez Subject: [loud-fans] the proverbial kissing of the guy >Aside from extremely well-known examples (like the Hendrixian mishearing > >alluded to in the subject line...and of course, amongst us, the mangled > >Miller of my list name above), what are some of the more interesting > >misheard lines you folks think you heard? > The Hooverphonic lyric that sounds like "Blue Hawaii / Picadilly whore", REALLY IS. c ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 31 Mar 2002 01:59:54 -0500 (EST) From: Sue Trowbridge Subject: Re: [loud-fans] the proverbial kissing of the guy On Sun, 31 Mar 2002, Jeffrey with 2 Fs Jeffrey wrote: > Aside from extremely well-known examples (like the Hendrixian mishearing > alluded to in the subject line...and of course, amongst us, the mangled > Miller of my list name above), what are some of the more interesting > misheard lines you folks think you heard? I probably said this the last time this topic came up, but my personal favorite is Siouxsie and the Banshees' "I am the passing Jew" (I had never heard the Iggy Pop original). That one puzzled me for a long time, until I saw a copy of the album and noted that the track was titled "The Passenger." Did anyone else see DEATH TO SMOOCHY? Despite the scathing reviews, I thought it had some extremely funny moments (I had to see it, 'cause how could I miss a film featuring Jon Stewart AND Edward Norton?). I will note that it sometimes goes over the top in its effort to be a black, black, black comedy, but it should appeal to the same folks who enjoy SOUTH PARK. It's probably tanking, so you should have no problem getting a good seat in the theater. - --Sue ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 31 Mar 2002 02:34:11 -0500 From: jenny grover Subject: Re: [loud-fans] the proverbial kissing of the guy Jeffrey with 2 Fs Jeffrey wrote: > > Aside from extremely well-known examples (like the Hendrixian mishearing > alluded to in the subject line...and of course, amongst us, the mangled > Miller of my list name above), what are some of the more interesting > misheard lines you folks think you heard?
