My buddy with cable told me that there are new episodes of Absolutely Fabulous to begin airing today, on I guess Comedy Central. Anyone know the details on this? Is it the original British cast with beautiful English rose Julia Sawalha as Saffron? Or is it the fabled American version of the program that Rosanne Barr supposedly bought the rights to some years back? I think this is the funniest situation comedy since "I Love Lucy." Jennifer Saunders is a genius. It's certainly no Electro-Shock Blues, but I like a few of the tracks quite a lot - most specifically 'Woman Driving, Man Sleeping' and the track that closes the album, "What Note is This?" (that's the title, right? I havent got the CD in front of me), which I initially didn't like but soon fell in love with for its nice simple closing acoustic strum coupled with distorted vocals. I lived in Japan for a few years and soon fell in love with Pocky. They've got all sorts of flavours, not just chocolate-dipped- the strawberry ones are especially good. They should actually be spelled "Pokey", as the name is a sort of onomotopeia. And this brings to mind the question: Is Superchunk's album "No Pocky for Kitty" referring to this snack, or is it mere coincidence?
