Oddly enough, I was spinning that disc in the wee wee hours of the morning, and found it a fine, eclectic, eccentric swirl of pop styles. Can anyone comment on his other two records? SEDONA ARIZONA is initially a bit of a disappointment after MARS PENNSYLVANIA because it doesn't have the elaborate orchestrations (he and Hawksley Workman co-produced the album in Hawk's home studio, playing all the instruments themselves). However, when you factor in that he didn't consider it his proper "second" album, but just a low-profile stopgap release, it becomes a lot more charming. "Stand By Your Masses" and "Millionaires Everywhere" are swap-CD standards of mine. BANFF SPRINGS TRANSYLVANIA is even more thoroughly whacked than MARS PENNSYLVANIA.
