The 2 shows at Cafe Carpe in Fort Atkinson were excellent. Of course Kris had the new CD with her so lots of Peter Mulvey fans were able to buy up bunches of them. Most of us Kris fans there had them in our eager hands already!!! She did a 7 song set each night, singing East of the Mountains, Juice and June and Cluck old Hen both nights. Cluck old hen was a big favorite with the crowd, with Peter adding to the noise :-) (he also sang and played on Juice and June). On Thurs. she did You're no Train, Yellow Brick Road, Honeyed Out and encored with a cover...Joni Mitchell's A Case of You. To add to both evenings she joined Peter on 4 songs too!! Friday's show included Broken White line, Little Wings, Hummingbird and Short Work for the encore. The shows were a special bonus, I was only expecting a Nov. tour.....but Kris, Peter and Jeffrey Foucault were in town to record a CD they are doing together!!!!! Unfortunately Jeff didn't play...he is really great :-) but he was there in the audience watching all the fun up on stage. Peter had Goody Goodrich along for electric guitar, and what can I say but WOW, I love watching him play. As for the new CD, I've been playing it lots and while I really really liked it the first time I heard it, it only gets better the more you listen to it. Three of the new songs I'd never heard live are right on top of my current favorites...with Weathervane especially cool. I requested that Friday but Kris still hasn't worked out a live version yet, so can't wait for the full tour to hear the new songs!! Those of us who saw the Chautauqua Tour in the UK earlier this year will be drooling at this snippet of information! Peter mentioned that his new CD should be ready by March, and that this one would be available even before that because they were just throwing it together. They were recording in someone's livingroom, sharing an $11,000.00 mike and evidently it was quite hot in there judging by all the jokes about the odor in the room :-) They are covering some older songs, did one from the 40's at the show that they had recorded that day. Jeff had mentioned they would do some covers, traditional songs and one song from each, but don't know if that went down the same since it was a while back I'd heard that. We'll all just have to wait and see!! - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dave McKay" To: Sent: Saturday, August 16, 2003 5:17 PM Subject: little-wings: Hold The Fort! > In her show review, Sharon Pieczynski wrote: > > but Kris, Peter [Mulvey] and Jeffrey Foucault were in town to > > record a CD they > > are doing together!!!! > > Whoa!
