I wasn't dissatisfied with the old website either, but I must say the new site does have a better look and feel to me. I'm looking forward to the new album, of course, and also hope to see her on the road sometime this fall. I got my review copy in the mail today, so if I can get myself in gear, I'll have the review I'm doing for the FAME site ready fairly soon. Pre-review comments: * I've heard more than half the CD so far, and knew most of the first 8 songs from Kris' April gig here in San Diego * What I've heard is more to my liking -- in technical recording style -- than was Five Stories (which I like a LOT). The new album is a lot more natural, less studio-effects sounding * I'm not thrilled with some of the electric lead guitar stuff, while some is excellent. As an example, I'd have absolutely used a fiddle lead (rather than electric guitar) on East Of The Mountains. This, by the way, is a minor and personal preference issue * Kris' singing is great, as is everything else I've heard so far * My lead line in my review will probably be "There's one thing I just don't understand about Kris Delmhorst: Why isn't she a star?" * I know the answer, of course: because she won't follow orders that are contrary to her desires, to her vision. No sell-out from this young lady. * My only complaint, so far, and again a minor issue is: The only photo of her - -- back cover (tray) -- is far less than flattering, and a good (or bad) ways below her actual attractiveness. Kris, although it's a good thing that you're not interested in playing the Brittney sex-goddess game, you don't need to TRY to "dress down". ------------------------------ End of little-wings-digest V5 #31 *********************************
