However, as Lisa stated and Kris made it abundantly clear last night at the Freight & Salvage that basically ... and I'm loosely paraphrasing here... 'there's a rumor going around, which is strictly a rumor not based in reality, but there's no way in hell you'll ever see my music on a Starbuck's compilation'. So, whether they're piping her in off Muzak or whatnot, her opinion of Starbucks was quite obvious! The show was wonderful...as always. :) The Freight was a full house with lots of first timers, nice to see. She headlined with a SF local, Noe Venable, whom I must admit does not thrill me much...I was waiting desparately for Kris! I know there were some new Kris listeners there, one being my girlfriend! Another was a pal from the Catie Curtis list, neither were disappointed! I'd heard Kris on Patchwork Quilt this weekend, so there may have been some folks showing up after hearing that too. I didn't write the set list, but she pretty much played all of Five Stories, Moscow Song, 3 "new" ones (unrecorded) that I can't remember all the titles... Hummingbird, the train song, and...oh, I can't remember...and a couple more, I'm sure! Julie Wolf joined her for lots of the set on background vocals, accordian, piano string plucking...and playing it on the keys too! ;) Closing the encore with Lullaby 101 just seemed really appropriate for this crazy time the world is in right now. Disappointed I couldn't catch any other Bay Area gigs this time around, but I'll look forward to her tour next year? in support of the new CD she's going to start soon! :) Happy almost fall and peace to y'all...
