Last October, I was "too tired" to make the 100 mile trip up from Richmond and have regretted it ever since. Last night, I blew off my usual "Sci Fi Tuesday" (I get the new Star Trek a day early) to go and see Kris. NOT a hard choice. :-) Her friend Mark McKay (sp?) opened for her and she joined him on a number of songs, playing the fiddle and singing harmony. After a short break Kris came back and performed a wonderful set of songs. The new ones I haven't heard before, so I'm relying on past posts to guess what the names were. New Song (could be Wading Under the Waves, there was something about undertow) Bobby Lee Words Fail You Cluck Old Hen Train Song Mary Lou Broken White Line Open Road Just What I Meant Little Wings Yellow Brick Road Wasted Word Moscow Song North Dakota Mean Old Wind Honeyed Out Ain't No Grave ENCORE Weatherman Sleeping Dogs Kris was in a very relaxed mood, evidenced by her Wildcats t-shirt, her beer onstage (you can tell when a singer burps because she all of the sudden sounds horrible), and the fact she wanted to see a fight break out so the bartender could break it up. Apparently, if you want to get on Kris' good side, start a fight. :-) I drove home a VERY happy person. Got in around 12:45am and caught Celine Dion on Larry King. Now, no offense to her, but she's no Kris Delmhorst! Believe me!!!!!! Kris writes incredible songs, sings them with a beautiful rich voice, and has a great stage presence. Celine is...well, ok. (just my opinion folks) :-) Looking forward to Kris opening for Dar on the 14th. don "I like to think of it as eating off each other's plates." - erin mckeown http://www.concentric.net/~donsem/votv_0309.htm Don Semmens; Richmond VA; donsem@concentric.net Visit my Regan Site http://www.concentric.net/~donsem/regan.htm Rob Buck Memorial Scholarship Fund http://gottabuck.org/ ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 27 Mar 2002 21:15:04 -0500 From: "Julia S.G." I liked the story about running and everybody saying hello and not being able to talk back. :) Very reminiscent. Little wings (among many) was cool; It seems to be floating around in my head. I like the facial expressions. T'was also Neat, as a new fan, to realize that I HAVE heard Kris on the Respond Compilation! Weatherman was fun to hear live. Okay.
