Last night my friend Sarah, her sister, and I treked to Lancaster for a lovely evening of music. Mark Erelli played first. He was great! I hadn't heard him before so I had a lot of fun watching and listening to him. Kris came out and did a duet with him. It was gorgeous. Then there was a break and the crowd descended on the goodies that were for sale :) After the break Kris came out with a new hair do, very cute, and new guitar. The guitar was the one she'd won at Telluride, it had just gotten wired for stage usage and this was its debut. It did very well and didn't seem the least bit nervous. She played the first three songs alone and then Mark joined her. They both commented on the UN feel of the room due to the different flags flying from the rafters. Does anyone know what is going on with the two part names? Mary Lou, Bobbie Lee, maybe Amanda Lynn next? Anyways, she played... Bobbie Lee "Too New For A Name" aka the song about the crushes and fireflies and dandelions and hummingbirds...It just might be my new favorite song. Mary Lou Cluck Old Hen + Mark and the red guitar, they seemed a little paranoid that we wouldn't like it because of its electricness Words Fail You (She'd been on the west coast and was feeling a little over cheeried-up, she thanked the easterners for having moods and seasons, so this was her lovely cloudy dark song for the occasion) Yellow Brick Road Mean Old Wind (there was a crazy attack of distortion from nowhere) Open Road Broken White Line (She mentioned a traffic report she'd heard in LA where there was some slow going on "the 101" because a man had pulled over to the side of the road, gotten on top of his car and was dancing. There was much rubbernecking apparently.) Little Wings (giant SUV Limos, eeek!) The gospel song she's been singing, Ain't No Grave Gonna Hold My Body Down 1st encore: Juice and June 2nd encore: Lullaby 101 I was very excited to get to hear so many of the new songs and Lullaby (which has spent a long time on repeat especially around night-night time). I hope you are all having a nice wintery time out there, have fun and be good, Magdalena *You can't love six and still play tricks* *Honey* *I'm just a little firefly, I wanna light up but I'm just too shy* (well, something to that effect at least) *Kris D* _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 10 Feb 2002 14:24:10 -0600 From: "Timothy Springer" Subject: little-wings: yay! thank you SO SO much for posting the setlist! :D the new song about Fireflies has been deamed "Little Firefly" by me and "I Always Will" by my Sharon :) i need to post the lyrics for it. want me to? heh heh. *shrug* whats the Bobbie Lee song like? i have yet to hear it! Now that we all have the lyrics I wonder if we can come up with a title for it. So far I've heard it called The Crush Song (in the Moscow Song, Damn Love Song and Train Song tradition, heehee). Timmy threw out Little Firefly as an idea, Sharon calls it I Always Will, and I've been thinking of it as Too Shy. Anybody else have thoughts on the matter? See you out there, Magdalena *You can't love six and still play tricks* *Honey* _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 10 Feb 2002 20:35:50 -0600 From: "folkyboy" Subject: Re: little-wings: Little Firefly (I Always Will) lyrics actually Maggie, i think the train song is really just called "The Train". tho she hasn't offically named any of the unreleased stuff except for Juice & June and Short Work. the others, she says, she tries to keep untitled as long as possible. :) tho if i had to name it, i'd call it "Hide My Light" :P *shrug* heck i dunno what i'd call it ~tim ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 10 Feb 2002 21:44:48 -0500 From: "Jason Reese" Subject: little-wings: Kris Live Hey y'all... I just joined after accidentally stumbling upon Kris' new album and falling in love with the music! I'm hoping to get to see her when she plays Passim this week, though still not sure if I'm going to be able to go. I just had one question--are there any live recordings that Kris has done?? I heard something that had been recorded at Passim (I think) that was AMAZING and I would love to get a copy of it!! Many thanks from your newest member!
