I will mail this sometime in the fall so it arrives for the holiday season, it takes around 2-3 months to arrive at such a distance location. Kris graciously has signed a couple of CD's. Other artists who have signed CD's, posters, etc. are Lori McKenna, Meghan Toohey and Melissa Ferrick. I am sure Luba will enjoy receiving these precious items. I can just picture all of the kids at the orphanage dancing around to the new music they receive! Maybe the peace corp volunteers will email me a photo of Luba and her friends dancing and singing along. They are learning English and this may help. If anyone is interested in learning more about Project Smile or wish to look at the photos of the kids go to: http://www.smile.freenet.kz barb ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 8 Aug 2001 19:29:21 -0500 From: "the folk boy" Subject: Kris and Russia that's SO awesome barb! :) i went to the site and looked at all the little kids and I have been thinking about sponsering. It sounds SO fun. I'm just unsure of what they would want and stuff. I saw on the site what to send but it just seems rather weird. How did you know they had a CD player? Was it like something you saw when you went there? I was just curious :) It's awesome that they recieved American folk music so well, tho. I try to foist it on a lot of people but most aren't biting :) I've gotten my mother into some of it, though. And I've had some coworkers take interest :) It's very rad that you are doing that. My hats off to you! ~tim ------------------------------ End of little-wings-digest V3 #45 *********************************
