Subject: [lilith-fair-fans] My Hartford Experience

Oooh!  Lilith was sooo fun!  When we first arrived, I dragged the two people I
came with to second stage.  We switched off waiting there for the next three
hours just so we could have front row for Heather Nova.  (Because I'm such a
big fan of hers.)  Before her, we went over to third stage for a minute and
saw Donna Martin.  Donna was so fabulous I bought her cd Pioneers and got it
autographed.  Then we returned to second stage where we talked to Paris
Hampton before she went on.  She was amazing!  I went to Tower and bought her
cd as well, where she autographed it.  Then came Imani Coppola, who put on a
rather interesting show.  She came out with loads of glitter eye makeup and
pink hair.  (a wig.)  At one point she stuffed apples in her shirt and threw
them out to the audience.  After the show, she autographed my bag and took a
pic with me.  Then came Heather.  I got out my tape recorder and took lots of
pictures from my front row spot.  She was absolutely wonderful.  She sang I'm
The Girl, Blood Of Me, Walk This World, Heal, London Rain :), and Maybe An
Angel.   I then gave my tape recorder to my friend cuz she was supposed to go
straight to Tracy Bonham.  But, I learned Heather wouldn't be signing for 20
minutes, so I went to Tracy Bonham only to find my friend wasn't there!  I was
sooo pissed cuz I am such a big fan of Tracy's!  So, my friend came, and we
got about 5 and a half songs on tape, including all the new ones from her
upcoming cd out this fall.  She was really great.  Then I left to go meet
Heather.  I cut the entire super long line and didn't know what to say to her.
I was all excited!  Well, I gave her my Siren cover, but the person helping
her out started to take out the covers off all the cds I have.  So, Heather
signed 5 cds, my Lilith bag, and took a picture with me!  I went back twice to
talk to her after that because my friend wanted to meet her, and there was no
one good on stage to watch.  When we did get back to the stage, M'Shell
Ndegiocello was there.  She hadn't eaten all day, and fained before her set
was over.  Then Bonnie Raitt came out and was pretty good.  Sarah and Tracy
joined her on a song.  Then it was Natalie's turn.  I recorded her set.  She
started out with Wonder, my favorite, and also sang (in no order) Jealousy,
Carnival, Ophelia, The Living, Break Your Heart, Life Is Sweet, and everyone
stood for Kind and Generous.  Then came Sarah!  I also taped all of her stuff.
She was wonderful, and everyone loved her.  She sang (in no order) Possession,
Ice Cream, Elsewhere, Building a Mystery, Sweet  Surrender, Witness, Angel,
Black and White, and ended with Adia.  Then she brought everyone back out
including  Heather and Donna (2nd and villiage stage.) They all sung a song
together and it was really great.  I took lots of pictures and made lots of
tapes!  It was a day I'll never forget!

Hey people - 

The Lilith Fair site now has its official news list address up to which you
can subscribe and get the latest info  .    In addition , there are a few more
good pictures from the past couple of shows under the "dates" section  . . .
even one of Sarah walking around the Village (!) area the day that she was
consumed by food poisoning .    Poor baby:(  

Anyway, I'll see many of you in less than a week @ Columbia !

I remember someone writing about having live Poe and Liz Phair tapes and
wanting to trade for Sarah stuff.  I have lots of Sarah stuff I would be
willing to trade, so if that person would e mail me, I'd really appreciate it.
I'd have to get back to you in 3 weeks though, because that is how long I am
going away.

hello all :)
    i just got back from "vacation" (saw some relatives...blah!)  anyway, on
the way from Lubbock, Texas, to New Mexico, Saturday, July 4, from
8.00 -10.00 p.m. (cst) there was some radio series about women in music,
they played some live songs and a lot of different regular songs from
artists,  and they interviewed sarah, and paula and lisa loeb and sheryl
crow and melissa ethridge (and a lot of other people, non-lilith related)
but they promoted it as a lilith thing event hought it was about all women.
anyway, it said it was a new series, but seeing as i don't live in lubbock,
i have no idea if it is still being broadcast and where it is...just
wondering if anyone else heard this and where they heard it...

and sorry if this was already mentioned...
