Just so you know, last year at Pine Knob, there were signs around at the entrances saying no cameras at the request of the artists. Still, I had a disposable camera in my pocket and wasn't about to walk all the way back to the car and put it back. So I did end up bringing it in, and was able to get some good pictures of some of the artists on the small stages (particularly Lori Carson and Victoria Williams), as well as pictures of friends and stuff out on the grassy hill. None of the security people seemed to notice or mind. So that's what I recommend; that way, if they take it away, you're only losing $10 or whatever a disposable camera costs. I've never seen security so relaxed as at the Shoreline, especially for a big event like Lilith...they didn't bothered to look at my backpack even though I had it open and offered it up for inspection... not that there was anything incrimminating inside, of course...... on the first night, a girl ran up to the stage where we were sitting and started snapping away, and I even saw people casually snapping away with 35mm cameras...the ad hoc policy at many of these shows appear to be that instamatics and disposables are tolerated, but 35mm cameras with detachable lenses (esp big telephotos or zooms!) are a big no-no... A guy was recording Tara in the open at the Village Stage with his cassette recorder, and security waited until after her performance before dragging him away...strangely enough, they just took his equipment, not his film...at the same time, an in-the-wingers was merrily taking pictures stage-right with his 35mm camera, and was left alone... *fumblecheers!* Edward Uh, sorry, no cute or clever signatures to be found here. It's one of the $52 tickets, Section 20-R, Row 10, Seat 109. Also, I am driving out from Phoenix, and we were going to stay with my housemate's cousin, but since now she isn't going, I don't have anywhere to stay. I was hoping to drive out Friday night, and leave on Sunday, so I'm looking for a place to stay Friday night and Saturday night, or one of the two nights. If anyone lives out there, and I could stay with you, please email me. I would be eternally grateful. Or if you know someone I could stay with, or have any suggestions for me, that would be great.
