Seriously, I love XPN, and am very happy that they're playing DMB - you know which one ; ) - but, they should've been playing them years ago! But hey, being named as one of the twelve "artists to watch of 2003" almost makes up for it : ) But the whole XPN thing got me thinking - why not try to get Darcie and the Band played on more radio stations? XPN provides a list on their website of all the other other radio stations in the U.S. that broadcast the World Cafe, so I thought, why not begin there? These stations are obviously receptive to XPN-like music, so why not call in requests to these other stations and say that I heard the Darcie Miner Band on the World Cafe - and that Darcie is one of 12 artists for 2003 that the station is featuring - and could they please play a song... I figure the radio industry must work like all others - they don't want to be left behind - they want to be hip and playin' what's hot - and this band is hot - so it's like we're really doing them a service, y'know? Anyway, i decided to start somewhat locally - so i've called and written in to wyep in pittsburgh and wfuv in ny. Anyone care to join me in this crusade? The New Yahoo! Search - Faster. Easier.
