Been real busy lately. I'm quietly putting a Street Team/Rep Program together for us. There is an AMAZING amount of people that have signed up for this mailing list since the tour, (thank you all, by the way) I thought it best to keep a buzz going down South and other areas. And the best way to do this is to get moving on this street team! Let's get to the point shall we...... The meaning of our street team is as follows: For you to assist us in getting our music out to as many people as possible; at campuses, clubs, to your co-workers, friends, relatives, and to help promote shows in your area. Your job would be to drag everyone you know out to shows when we come to your town! To "spread the word" in general about us, play the CD at parties...and use to the fullest, internet marketing. Hang up flyers and posters when shows are coming up. And of course we send you however many CDs you think you can give out to EVERYONE you know and think will care. And don't forget, BURNING CDS IS GOOD in this situation, because what we are sending is promo discs. You may be saying.... "what do i get for all this????" Guestlist privileges! Of course to shows that it is possible to do that, which IS often. A t-shirt of your choice... and we are working on more ways to convince you to help us out! I look at it this way. John Mayer did it. Howie Day did it and within a year he has over 2,000 people on his rep program. When I say I've been quietly working on this, I mean that this is the first mass email that has gone out regarding this subject. I personally emailed a TON of people we met and who saw us from the Edwin tour and they all are willing to help and some have already received and handed out their CDs. (THANK YOU, and an email will be sent to all of you in a few minutes!) We need people from all over, including PA to help us out. This is the greatest way to get our music out to the world. And you, the always-believing-in-us fan, are a great way to help us in our careers. Plus you will learn that this is the "grass roots marketing" way of getting out there and noticed. We could use your help, because we are planning another tour in a few months. We'd love your support and you won't be forgotten for it. Please think about it. : ) I promise it to be fun. If you are interested in this, send an email with your name, address, age, where/how you heard of us, how many CDs you think you can hand out to your friends, and to what colleges and or clubs you can get our stuff too. The site will soon have a sign up form and a separate page for all this info, but for now, send all that in an email to: DMB_ST@msn.com Thank you very much for even considering doing this for us. By SPREADING THE WORD you are helping us a great deal in getting our music out there! ************************************************************ If you haven't seen the photos page yet, take a look. There's more coming in the next few days. Lotsa crowd shots gonna go on there. Hell - you could probably find yourself in some of those pics! Great photos with Ann and Nancy Wilson, awaiting photos with Patty Griffin and still more from the tour. Don't forget our next show is at the Appalachian Brewery in Harrisburg, and we haven't been back there in awhile so let's make it a good one!! A few new songs to take place that night. One we just basically got down last night. It'll be fun, playing there is always a trip. : ) And if you dig other bands from PA, get your tickets for the River Rat RockFest asap! Cuz Labor Day (sept. 2nd) is coming on us fast! This event is going on in Bloomsburg, PA. It's an 18+ show featuring Breaking Benjamin, Poptart Monkeys, Dead Leaves, Nevermoure, Brokn and Negative Space. And of course us! Visit kickmanagement.com for the purchase of tix. Damn this is a long ass email. Did you notice House and I are playing at the Tin Angel??!! Do you know I've wanting to play there since I started 5 years ago??? I'm a so excited! Okay kids, please think about signing up for our ST and helping us out. We really do appreciate it. dancing in the dark, ~darc darcie83@girlofyourdreams.com http://www.darcieminerband.com http://www.beyondmusic.comGet more from the Web. Sorry it took me a few days to reply to this... my aol is being a bitch ass this week... Thanks for explaining "Orphan"! I love it. I really like the break in the middle of the song... Thanks to Dave I heard a live version ;) and you can definitely tell that you're all very passionate about the song which is cool. I thought the song was about something different, but the way you've described it makes more sense. :) Darcie, you asked about my music-it's going well, thanks. I'm rehearsing w/ my band (er, well, myself and a guitarist b/c we don't have enough room in our Blazer for anyone else!) and I will be touring the U.S. in 2003. Looking very forward to that! Maybe we'll catch up with you guys on the road at some point :) I have an industry showcase in NYC in a little over a month for booking agents and management co's and I'm pretty freaking nervous. You also mentioned Howie Day - I have "Australia" but I have the pre-Epic records release. He's very cool. Have you heard Jack Johnson's stuff yet? Sort of Howie/John Mayer-ish... I really like his album a lot. Also a friend of mine, John Lardieri, is one of the best musicians in NYC. He's amazing. A voice like Jeff Buckley and very percussive guitar work. He did an industry showcase about a month ago and had most of the major record labels there (including ATO - I love them =) )... he was signed to London-Sire but then they folded. He rocks, though :) Hope you're all doing well!
