["* Darcie *" Subject: Re: Let-It-Out: anyone out there? Hi - It has been quiet. Well, I sent my webmaster the info to add this list info. up to my site. Hopefully it'll be up soon. And Dave, did you get your pics developed?? How did they turn out?? Kinda slow lately on the whole music biz note. Waiting to hear some answers today. Hopefully good. I'll let you all in when I can. Orphan is a couple different things. A friend of a friend who was turned bulimic a few years ago. Still struggling with it too. Like she WAS down to skin and bones. It was always very scary just seeing her walk by. I think the binge and purge thing comes from depression, whether it be feeling guilty, or sad, or unhappy with yourself; which is why the whole beginning is the way it is. The "everyday is monday and everyday i'm sad." Wanting to get back up, but you just can't. She also ran away a few times to FL, it was crazy.... It has also has alot to do with certain relationships I was in at the time. Family, etc. Orphan is everything crashing down all at once. Actually each line is very true to it's meaning. There's no metaphor's there. I think that's a first for me. I'm very happy with the way that song turned out. I dig it. Will always. And when we play it live, you can tell we all LOVE playing it. ---hey that's the first time I ever talked about what that song was about! : ) We're actually working on new ones to start playing out now. Getting a little tired of playing the same things, and probably the audience is getting tired as well. Time to hear new stuff. Got a buncha dates back at Angie's, which is good, because that place is laid back enough I'm not afraid to share the new stuff. So probably by that first gig or the ABC one we'll have the new shit ready to go. How's life on the music tip for you Jess? Hope it is well. I have a new love in my life, and his name is Howie Day!!! LOL I remember the first time we played the Grape Street Pub in Philly a few years ago, and they gave us the GSP Comps. And there was a Howie Day tune on it that had a full band, "The Morning After." I loved that song. Here I though he was a band. No, just one guy. I gotta pick up his disc. cool stuff, ~darc - ----- Original Message ----- From: Songbird22@aol.com Sent: Wednesday, August 14, 2002 6:57 PM To: let-it-out@smoe.org Subject: Let-It-Out: anyone out there? hellllllllllllllooo Just thought I'd write and say hi. This list has been so quiet lately! Surely we haven't run out of topics, because Darcie's career is just beginning :) Darcie, I'm curious what you wrote "Orphan" about. The song kicks ass. Just curious what your inspiration was for it, though. :) Jessica www.jessicaweiser.com | www.aftersilence.net new album AFTER SILENCE available NOW! Get more from the Web.
