McNamara" Subject: RE: Tributes This type of cabaret act is becoming very popular ... the cabaret group that did a great job with Back To The Garden (Joni, Carole King and Laura Nyro) in Ithaca a couple of years ago, this year performed Women of Woodstock (Joan Baez, Janis Joplin, Melanie, and Grace Slick). I'd like to see somebody tackle Joni Mitchell, Todd Rundgren and Peter Gabriel (but nobody cares what us progs think) LOL!! There seems a lack of consistent iconoclasm in the current trio. Top 40 doesn't challenge orthodoxy much, or didn't in the the 60s and 70s. CC 'Girls Like Us' an homage to three great American songstresses ... This is a cabaret-style show in the Chicago area ... http://tinyurl.com/qfq5ybl ------------------------------ End of JMDL Digest V2015 #611 ***************************** ------- To post messages to the list, sendto joni@smoe.org Unsubscribe by clicking here: mailto:joni-digest-request@smoe.org?body=unsubscribe -------
