I'm not a musician tho. Are there other listeners attending? I used to cruise that area in a sailboat (of course with Joni playing on the stereo), it is truly stunningly beautiful. My 2 cents is to seriously consider the seaplane (float plane) option that is mentioned on their 'location' page: http://www.rubylakeresort.com/location.html BC is huge and a seaplane is quick, safe and offers awesome views. If you get enough people together you can charter the whole plane (usually 4 to 8 people) and it's quick and fun. I used them several times to shuttle friends and family to my boating location. Joniphiles, September of 2016 marks the 20th Anniversary of the JMDL. What a long, strange trip it's been! And, what a perfect time to throw a big JoniFest in celebration, eh? Some location ideas are floating around - not the least of which is having the Fest at Ruby Lake Resort in British Columbia, Canada, north of Vancouver. They are excited about the possibility of hosting the event. This, then, is simply a probe to find out if there is any interest. Long story short, it would have to be the weekend of Sept 16-18. This resort is quite the paradise and therefore a bit more expensive. Nightly lodging rates would range from about $169 for a solo private room, all the way down to about $25 for a shared tent (these are permanent, floored, heated tents. Nice!). The more 'buddying-up', the less the nightly cost. There might be a minimal shared extra cost for jam space, etc, as well. An overall commitment to rent the place would need to be made soon, so please respond and let me know your interest level.B Public discussion on the list encouraged. Here's the resort's website: http://www.rubylakeresort.com/ Thanks!
