Thank you for your courageous post Ingrid. I'm glad you know what happened with you and that you can see it in the light of sanity now and share it with others. It is so good to hear you are allowing yourself to receive professional help. Ending fear and lack of understanding of mental illness is possible when courageous people like you come forward and share their stories. I have read that typical of these illness is anosognosia, which makes it difficult to realize the benefits of psychiatric care. I highly recommend the following organization (link below) for anybody seeking more information on mental illness and desiring to advocate for those who are mentally ill. I do not know if there are branches in countries other than the USA and Canada.
