It means so much to me to know that there are people all around the world who share my deep appreciation of Joni Mitchell's words and music. The UK seems to be particularly forward-thinking about recognising her talents (the recent symposium and the inclusion of her music in their curriculum are two examples that spring to mind). I've read, for months now, and with a bit of envy, JMDL tales of close encounters with Joni and of course the amazing sounding Jonifest. But in truth I love living through your stories. You all know her words and music don't just bring enjoyment -- they make you a wiser, more empathic and thoughtful person and a better member of society. I'm often torn between irritation at her low key 'obscurity' and pride that I'm part of a very clever and exclusive club. Thank goodness she appears to be getting better!!!! I just wanted to say that I (probably 'we') totally get that feeling of being alone with the love of Joni's music and then to find a whole community of people is quite something. > > Those who have known me on this list since '98 will tell you that I seem to drawn to post every few months how wonderful JMDL is and one of the greatest things to come from the World Wide Web - well, at least for me.I also have to tell people that I first heard Joni in 1968 and didn't find anyone in those thirty years who 'got' Joni till I found this list. There you go, haven't said for a couple of months so that should get me by till Christmas. > > God Bless JMDL and all who sail in her! > Anita (in the UK) > >> On 1 Oct 2015, at 09:24, Loidee Santos wrote: >> >> Hello fellow Joni lovers. It is wonderful to know my passion for Joni's art, musicianship, voice, phrasing and LYRICS is shared around the world by people with way more expertise and knowledge than me! I learn so much from your ideas.
