You're right, it was the 1970 Grammys (for 1969 work).

Harry Nilsson won best contemporary vocal performance (male) for "Everybody's
Talkin' ", and Joni won best folk performance for "Clouds".

I couldn't remember if Joni was nominated for a Grammy for For The Roses and
had to check. Nope. No nominations for Ladies, Blue, or For the Roses. I guess
the era was dominated by Carpenters, Anne Murray, etc.Jeff
