Its an example, someone said, of Joni "letting the guitar do the work" meaning once you get it into its tuning, its pretty simple to play, mostly single finger bar chords. Its fun to slide from 7 to 12th fret, then go to bar 8, then back down to one. Sounds so cool and is so easy anyone could do it! Larry Carlton I think is The Man. I usually say hes my favorite electric guitar player via his Joni stuff, those great Steely Dan solos (i.e., Kid Charlemagne). When his guitar comes in on Help Me as she sings "freedom" gives me total goose bumps and love the fade out. Now that we know Obama is a Joni fan perhaps he could have some sway in getting her a Kennedy Center honor next year, his final year in office. Somebody should run in by him. And Robert Plant could sing BSN at the ceremony. I have to think Obama would enjoy a lot of Joni's stuff (Dog Eat Dog) if he ever heard it. Maybe when he retires he could join the list.JeffNP Jeff Bridges, Crazy Heart ------------------------------ End of JMDL Digest V2015 #442 ***************************** ------- To post messages to the list, sendto joni@smoe.org Unsubscribe by clicking here: mailto:joni-digest-request@smoe.org?body=unsubscribe -------
