Didn't Free Man in Paris have to do with skipping out on a hotel bill in 
Paris?>

I hadn't heard that, specifically - my understanding is that it's just a 
biographical portrait of David Geffen, her then-manager, who was gay and 
closeted and was able to escape to Paris and not have to worry about all 
his business concerns (nobody calling me up for favors, and no one's 
furute to decide) and not have to closet his sexuality.
