The last official info was that a long-time friend was granted legal right to make "medical and lifestyle decisions". She and her attorney said under oath, in court, that Joni can't make decisions for herself. But then, UNOFFICIAL stuff started to come out. The same woman who is making those decisions released a statement in the same week saying Joni's improving (what ever that means) and that the wild rumors on the internet about Joni being non-responsive are NOT true. Although she could have given some kind of concrete info, she didn't. It seemed like she was contradicting her own sworn testimony. Then even more UNOFFICIAL stuff came out. From the stage, Wayne Shorter said he had spoken to Joni by phone. To Howard Stern, James Taylor said that Joni had had "a scare" and that she was improving. On Twitter, Joni's daughter said, "Nothing Can Be Done", but, of course, that's not concrete in any way. A small-time news organization said that unnamed sources said that Joni had a brain aneurism. She was in the hospital for more than a month. We haven't heard official if she is still there or not. She might or might not be in a rehab hospital. Gary, are you a fan, or a reporter?
