Though I had their records and wore them out in the '70's I was a bit young to be "allowed" to go to rock concerts and I didn't live in places where they played (or I would have climbed through the window...) (I climbed over a fence in 7th grade to go see the "Sons of Champlin" if anyone remembers that band...the repercussions involved the principal and a parent - I was already willing to "risk it all" for music!) - - all to say, the combination of CSNY, Neil Young solo, Joni as well as Jimi Hendrix took up the bulk of my listening from age 13 to 16. I'm going to be an old bitty and just say, there's been nothing like these people since. I'm grateful I got to get excited about new records and go to the store to buy them, I looked at the cover art for hours -- I miss that excitement. Which leads me to: no one is really buying music anymore. All the students at the Conservatory where I work listen on YouTube and Spotify. They, of course, don't know who any of these people are and I'm really feeling this generational "situation." All to say, it's great that this group keeps this music alive by reporting in. Thanks all!! - -- Laurie in Oakland ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 8 Jul 2014 22:56:54 +0100 From: Anita Gabrielle Subject: Re: "CSNY 1974" drops tomorrow, njc, long Hi Bob On your recommendation I bought Croz, and I do think it's a great album of considerable taste. Particularly taken by "Slice of a Time" and sing along loudly with "Radio". In my youth, I preferred "If I could only remember my name" to any of the CSNY albums, so have always been a bit taken by Croz, Anita > On 8 Jul 2014, at 21:36, Bob.Muller@Fluor.com wrote: > > Sirius "Deep Tracks" channel had a CSNY weekend this last weekend, played > LOTS of cuts from this new release along with some interviews and such.
