He's consistently awesome. His "songs" are more like musical landscapes, which is I guess why you dubbed it as Hejira-like. Also digging the new Black Keys and Tori Amos, who FINALLY scores with a solid album as opposed to a meh album with 1-2 decent tracks. I am incapable of anything more technical. Just know that it is really, really good. You should all check it out. Brian Blade is not only a musical genius on the order of Herbie, Wayne, and Jaco, but a loyal friend of our Joan, and possibly the nicest guy in the world.
