(Last week was Free Man in Paris, which also sounded fabulous over the PA.) Joni does not play piano like she's in a bar. Love me some Tori, Elton John, Billy Joel, etc. http://www.cbc.ca/irrelevantshow/ I felt like it was a little lost in translation. Do regular Canadians actually know about Joni Mitchell like American musicians and former hippies do? (Do not be offended by my gross generalizations.) When Tina Fey did a parody song, it was background to a scene. She was making fun of her character being the kind of woman who would like Joni while also liking the music herself. Her husband was also the musical director and probably has more appreciation for it than your average man. (More overgeneralizations.) Canadians, when do you start your Christmas shopping? Do you have a Black Friday in mid-October? Is it bigger or smaller than Boxing Day? What about everyone else? I LOVE shopping and consumerism in general, but I'm also curious about other cultures.
