It was the last missing piece in the puzzle. The lodge is on 12 acres, secluded in a beautiful part of the county - we can raise a ruckus and there will be no neighbors yelling "not so loud". There are a handful of private and semi-private rooms and a couple of "bunk rooms", the place sleeps 24 or so and perhaps we can squeeze a couple more in. If you're a camper, you can camp on the grounds as well. THIS IS WHERE THE PARTY (PARTIES!) WILL BE. A great deck, hot tub, full kitchen and dining, grill, a big great room downstairs for song circles, several other gathering spots too. The Swamp Rabbit bike trail is a stone's throw away, bike rentals are available. Many other outdoors activities very nearby. Etc. Now me: this sounds fantastic, Bob! I am a sad doubtful, as Alex and I have a trip to Japan planned for the fall (any lurkers out there in Japan??), but I'm not going to write it off just yet. You never can tell! Anyone who wants to join the test can sign up. We can try it out and see what we all think. Regardless of whether you join or not, be assured that the Smoe list will continue to exist (and misbehave) until a final decision is made. To join the test list, send an email to HelpMe@siquomb.com with just the word "sub.scribe" (remove the quotes and the period) in the body. You'll receive an email telling you how to post, and how to switch to digest mode. Positives about this list: - - Digests will be issued only once a day. Negatives about the list: - - There can be no "only Joni" option. - - The daily digest won't (can't) be dated or numbered. Positive/Negative aspect depending on your viewpoint: - - Attachments are allowed. (This can be debated as we go along). It's a bare-bones operation with not many options. But it's free and (fingers crossed) reliable. Join the test if you wish. And to reiterate, the Smoe list will continue to exist until a final decision is made. For myself, I think smoe works just fine - you just have to KNOW and obey the rules. Going to a system with no "Joni-only" option would be bad, all the NJC would go to everyone, even the testy types that don't want to see it and we'd probably see more than a few folks drop off.
