I enjoyed the interview very much and it was almost 2 hours long with tons of songs played. While I have been a fan of Stern's since he was first syndicated and liked his no fear type interviews, I thought that he stepped on James quite a bit when James was fumbling for the right words to say, esp. during the Joni part. I think James might have said much more about Joni but Howard kept with the rapid fire comments and questions and we missed out. We also happened to catch his interview with Martin Short who was able to keep up with Howard's pace and therefore kept Howard at bay more. Still alot of fun to hear. Howard asked about her because so many of his past guests have been in love with her and he called her a brilliant songwriter. James had played Woodstock on a past visit to the show, and he reprised a snippet. I know a lot of people don't like Stern, but he is a great interviewer and has a big appreciation for music.
